Hisashi Doita

Vice President of Engineering

Hisashi Doita is the Vice President of Engineering at J-POWER USA. He has 18 years of experience in the electric power industry. He currently oversees the engineering operations and technical integrity of J-POWER USA’s assets, with a focus on thermal power, and is also involved in renewable power development projects. In addition, he conducts research on low-carbon technologies from both economic and environmental perspectives.

Prior to joining J-POWER USA, Hisashi worked in the operation and maintenance of large-scale thermal power stations in Japan. He holds a First-Class Chief Electrical Engineer certification under the Japanese Electricity Business Act and is a certified Occupational Safety Consultant under the Japanese Industrial Safety and Health Act. Beginning in 2016, he was involved in the design, construction, and commissioning of a 2,000 MW thermal power station in Indonesia, where he spent four years on-site as a Control and Instrumentation Advisor.

Hisashi holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo.
